Solve real-world Generative AI challenges posed by the healthcare and automotive sectors

The AI-BOOST AI Challenge Competition is now open. This cascade funding initiative supports the development of innovative Generative AI solutions addressing real-world challenges in healthcare and the automotive sector.

The competition is seeking AI innovators to develop solutions for two key challenges: Generative AI for enhancing clinical imaging datasets through the creation of high-quality synthetic medical data, and AI-powered generation of software test cases from automotive crash databases and regulatory standards. Selected participants will work alongside challenge owners to develop proof-of-concept solutions with strong commercial and societal impact, while contributing to the safe and trustworthy adoption of Generative AI across Europe.

Who can apply? 

The competition is open to individuals, startups, SMEs, universities, research organisations, and consortia established in eligible EU Member States or Horizon Europe associated countries. Applicants should have proven expertise in artificial intelligence and propose a solution addressing one of the predefined AI challenges.

Funding

The competition follows a two-stage process. In the Spark Phase, five winners per challenge will each receive a €28,500 lump-sum grant to develop their proposed solution. Following the development period, one winner per challenge will be awarded an additional €100,000 in the Advance Phase to further validate and demonstrate their innovation.
