The Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument has launched its 2026 Investment Calls under Strand 1 and Strand 2a. With a combined budget of €58.4 million, the calls support mature interregional innovation projects that are ready for market deployment and investment. The funding aims to strengthen European value chains, accelerate the commercialisation and scale-up of innovative solutions, and promote collaboration between regions based on their Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3). While Strand 1 focuses on advancing interregional innovation investments, Strand 2a places particular emphasis on integrating less developed and transition regions into European innovation ecosystems and industrial value chains.
